General:
Der Gerfalke (Falco rusticolus) ist die weltweit größte Falkenart. Er ist zirkumpolar in den arktischen Regionen Eurasiens und Nordamerikas sowie Grönlands vertreten und besiedelt dort die Tundra. In Mitteleuropa ist er nur sehr selten als Wintergast zu beobachten und hält sich dann meist in Küstennähe auf.

Vocalization:
A coarse, drawn out, Peregrine-like "kaaawt", with emphasis on ending, is repeated in series. Much slower paced than in small falcons, and deeper and with different attack than in Peregrine. [Link]
